In 2023, C. S. McCrossan was awarded the largest highway project in Minnesota history. The 494/35W Design-Build project runs from Edina to Richfield at a value of $400M. Our crews are working hard to reconstruct, and revitalize this vital infrastructure, on one of the busiest roadways in the state.

This season's starting line up got things kicked off on our TH169/Rockford Road project with the demolition of the Rockford Road bridge.

The planning that went into this work paid off, as we managed the demolition of this structure safely, and slightly ahead of schedule. Great job to our crews!

Congratulations to all our employees on being recognized with a Construction Safety Excellence Award (CSEA) at the 2023 AGC of America Convention this week!

The purpose of the CSEA is to recognize construction companies who excel at safety performance. The CSEA closely examines each candidate's commitment to safety and occupational health management and risk control. Unlike other safety award programs that limit the criteria to frequency rates, the CSEA selection process is considerably more comprehensive. Each application was reviewed for evidence of:

· Company management commitment

· Active employee participation

· Safety training

· Work site hazard identification and control

· Safety program innovation

C.S. McCrossan received second place in the Highway & Transportation Division, under 500,000 work hours.

As part of the National Work Zone Awareness Week tomorrow, April 13, 2022 is GO ORANGE DAY!

Wear orange tomorrow to show your support for work zone safety. Take a photo of your or your group wearing orange and post it to social media!

Let's make the world orange tomorrow!

Today kicks off National Work Zone Awareness Week 2022. At C.S. McCrossan we take the safety of our crews, and of the motorists very seriously and we put a lot of effort into making sure that our work zones are safe for everyone. Please do your part to help out by obeying speed limits and keeping your distractions away while you travel through work zones.

In 2020, 857 people were killed in 774 fatal work zone crashes, according to the most recent data available from workzonesafety.org.

What many fail to recognize is the vast majority of people killed in work zone crashes are motorists and their passengers. In 2020, 117 workers died in work zones, making it all the more important for drivers to slow down and stay focused while approaching and passing through a roadway work zone.
