Anybody else get to the gym and immediately start thinking about everything they need to do?

Invoices.
Material orders.
Change orders.
Schedules.
That one thing you forgot yesterday.

The workout is the easy part.

This project started as an idea laid out through , combining different materials, textures, and contrasts to completely change the feel of the home while still keeping it clean, balanced, and timeless.

Materials used:
• Iron Gray smooth panels with smooth battens
• 6” James Hardie Cedarmill lap siding
• Iron Gray rough sawn trim package and corners
• 3.5” Iron Gray frieze/freeze breaks
• Midnight Black 5/4 rough sawn window trim package
• Cedar Renditions “Cedar Bark” soffits
• Custom bent Cedar Bark metal accents fabricated from Cedar Renditions coil
• Custom bent black aluminum fascia
• 5” black gutters with oversized downspouts

To create the timber-style accents above the windows and entry areas, we custom bent Cedar Bark coil and wrapped built-out 2x4 details to tie everything together with the soffits and wood-tone finishes throughout the project.

One of the things that makes being family owned and operated rewarding is being involved in every part of the process. From designing the exterior, to the tear-off, fabrication, layout, and installation, this project was built hands-on from start to finish.

I’ve always enjoyed mixing different materials, textures, and details to create contrast and bring a different vision to each project. Every reveal, transition, and line was intentional.

That’s the part of the trade I love most.

The amount of people willing to show up, guide students, share knowledge, and support the next generation of the trades was honestly impressive to see.

15 high schools, talented students, passionate mentors, great sponsors, and a whole lot of good people all in one place for the 24th Annual NIACC Design & Build Student Competition.

You could tell how much effort went into making this happen.

Good energy all around and good for the future of the trades.

However you wash your hands…
just make sure you can work with them

Good setup to start the day.
After that, it’s all work.
