From the before and after pictures of this firebox painting, you can clearly see the difference a new coat can do for a fireplace!

Having your firebox painted not only makes it look nicer, but it also can help with small openings that might collect dirt easier!

Masonry chimneys, just like any other, are built to last for a long time.

However, that doesn't mean that problems can't occur, or that they can withstand anything!

This one, for example, was struck by lightning, and you can see that it's been damaged heavily! 🌩️

🔥Log lighters are a useful accessory to have for a wood-burning system. 🪵🔥

A log lighter is used to help light a wood fire by connecting to a gas line and sending out flames to start the initial fire needed for the wood logs to burn. This replaced the need for kindling or a fire starter. 🛑Never put any type of paper in the fire box!

They can be controlled by a gas key which is used to turn the gas line off, increase gas flow, or decrease gas flow!

❤️‍🔥Gas logs are an excellent way to keep a warm and cozy fireplace, while not having to worry as much about the byproducts of a wood fire like creosote and smoke.

While wood-burning logs can be nice, for some the hassle of having to store and carry the logs in, ,cleaning out the ashes, and the fact that chimney sweeps are needed can be too much to handle. 🪵🔥

Gas logs, on the other hand, produce little to no byproducts, can be controlled more easily, don't require much effort at all to get them burning, and rarely have to be replaced. 🙂

Sometimes, when a firebox is too damaged, we have to perform a firebox tear out. 🧱

After taking out all the old and damaged pieces, we then replace it with a brand new firebox, letting you safely use your fireplace once again! 🔥✨

The National Fire Protection Association has created many safety codes and recommendations to help ensure people are properly protected and safe from fires.

When it comes to dryer safety, they have a few simple steps to help make sure that your dryer doesn't become a fire hazard.

First, and as you might expect, is to clean the lint filter between every use! In addition to that, however, it is recommended to also clean the exterior dryer vent of any debris and lint build up.

They also recommend keeping anything flammable off of and away from the dryer, such as papers, boxes, clothes, etc.

Occasionally, during jobs we may have to set up scaffolding to be able to reach and work on a chimney. 🪜

Whenever we do so, we always have to make sure everyone's safety is being considered, and properly taken care of.

That's why we always make sure our crew wears proper protection equipment when going up the scaffolding!

There are many different types of caps that can go on flues, including mounted caps like this one!

This one works well for a multi-flue cap, as it covers both openings at once without having to have individual caps on each flue.
