As part of our 10th Anniversary celebration, we’re proud to spotlight 10 remarkable ANCWT alumni whose journeys reflect the power of community, mentorship, and opportunity.

Today, we’re honoured to share Story 5 of 10: Nada Kadhim, MEng., ITIL.

One of the most meaningful parts of Nada’s journey is how ANCWT became more than a professional development program—it became a community. As a newcomer, the mentorship, guidance, networking opportunities, and support she received helped her build confidence, expand her professional network, and believe in her potential. Many of the doors that opened through this community contributed directly to the career opportunities she has today.

When asked what advice she would give to newcomer women pursuing careers in STEM, Nada shared:

💜 “Believe in the value of your experience and don’t underestimate what you bring to the table. As newcomer women, we often focus on what we need to learn about the Canadian workplace, but we sometimes forget the skills, knowledge, resilience, and perspectives we already have. Be open to learning, seek mentors, build your network, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Opportunities often come through relationships and conversations. Most importantly, be patient with yourself; your journey may not follow the timeline you expect, but persistence, continuous learning, and confidence in your abilities will open doors.”

When we asked what ANCWT means to her, her answer said it all:

💜 “ANCWT is a community that empowered me with the mentorship, connections, and opportunities that helped me build a successful career and find my place in Canada’s STEM community.”

As we celebrate 10 years of ANCWT, stories like Nada’s remind us that the impact of mentorship and community extends far beyond a single program. The confidence, connections, and opportunities built through ANCWT continue to shape careers and inspire future generations.

As part of our 10th Anniversary celebration, we’re proud to spotlight 10 remarkable ANCWT alumni whose journeys reflect the power of community, mentorship, and opportunity.

Today, we’re honoured to share Story 4 of 10: Rihab Abu-Khater.

One of the most meaningful parts of Rihab’s journey isn’t just where her career has taken her—it’s the community she found along the way. Nearly a decade later, the relationships she built through ANCWT continue to grow through mentorship, encouragement, and mutual support, proving that the strongest professional communities don’t end when a program does.

When asked what advice she would give to newcomer women pursuing careers in STEM, Rihab shared:

💜 “Keep trying, explore many options, and join organizations that truly understand and support your journey.”

When we asked what ANCWT means to her, her answer said it all:

💜 “My first step toward what I have achieved today.”

As we celebrate 10 years of ANCWT, stories like Rihab’s remind us that the impact of mentorship extends far beyond a single program. The connections, confidence, and opportunities built through our community continue to shape careers and inspire future generations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this milestone and to all who have been part of the ANCWT journey over the past decade.
