When people picture a more sustainable electrical future, they think solar, wind and EVs. But the materials inside the grid matter too.

Performance plastics help make electrification more sustainable by enabling:
• Lower-loss cable insulation that moves power more efficiently
• Lightweight, hydrophobic composite insulators that can cut maintenance needs in harsh, polluted environments
• Smaller, higher power-density electronics by improving insulation design (compact spacing)
• Lighter thermal management and safer high-voltage components in EV charging and battery systems, including halogen-free, flame-retardant materials

IAPD is collecting real-world examples for our Sustainable Storytelling Initiative, and we want yours. If your company is improving reliability, reducing maintenance, lowering energy use, extending service life or advancing recyclability in electrical applications, submit a short story (or upload a doc) and we’ll help polish it for publication.
