Over the past 50 years, PMA has helped bring multifamily developments to life across the country, supporting projects that enhance the resident experience through thoughtful design and amenities.

Alate Old Town is a 138,000-square-foot, six-story, 62+ luxury housing community in the heart of historic Alexandria, Virginia. The community offers 16 unique one and two bedroom floor plans and includes 133 residential units. The development features a movie theater, children’s play area, bistro/bar, yoga center, library, salon/spa, private dining room, and other luxury amenity spaces. Another special feature is the 36,500-square-foot, single-story, below-grade parking garage.

Element 23 Apartments in Overland Park, Kansas, consists of two wood-stick framed apartment buildings surrounding an interior parking garage. Each building wraps an open-air courtyard. The complex features 14 different unit types with a total of 289 apartment units. Amenities include a yoga studio, theater room, bike storage room, offices, a coffee bar, sports lounge, pet grooming station, wine room, and game room.

What a great start to the school year! Last week, we spent time with Blue Valley Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) students at the Engineering Kickoff event, sharing insights into a career in structural engineering and answering questions about our company.

Sitting down to watch the new season of Ted Lasso, we were excited to see Kansas City featured on screen. It was even more rewarding to spot several PMA Engineering projects serving as filming locations! We served as the engineer of record for McKeever's Market, which was transformed into Fowch’s Fine Foods where Ted works in the series.

We’ve also completed numerous renovation projects throughout the historic Country Club Plaza. We were also delighted to see the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum featured, as we are currently serving as the structural engineer for the new Negro Leagues Museum and Hotel campus in the 18th & Vine district.

To celebrate our 50th anniversary, we are highlighting our extensive experience providing structural engineering services for new and existing theatres, premium large-format auditoriums, and screen frame structures.

Over the years, we have worked on more than 300 AMC Theatres renovations, including AMC Empire 25 and AMC Lincoln Square 12 in New York, as well as AMC The Grove 14 and AMC Century City 15 in Los Angeles, and nearly every state in between. We have completed Dolby Cinema, IMAX, Prime at AMC, 4DX, and ScreenX auditoriums. Our experience also includes screen frame structures worldwide.

We have served as the engineer of record for numerous B&B Theatres projects, including B&B Liberty 12, which features Grand Screen, ScreenX, and ScreenPLAY! auditoriums. The facility also includes a 4,500-square-foot jazz bar and restaurant.

We were also proud to contribute to the 2018 renovation of Kansas City's historic Folly Theater. The project modernized the lobby and lounge areas, added an elevator, and expanded the back-of-house space.

Did you know that in the 80s, PMA Engineering (then, Seiden and Page, Inc.) served as the structural engineer of record for One Kansas City Place? The 42-story skyscraper remains the tallest building in Kansas City and Missouri. In celebration of our 50th anniversary, our team took a visit to the roof and took in the amazing views!
