Another exciting milestone for Owensboro Riverport as we officially broke ground on the expansion of our rail loop! 🚂

This project represents a major investment in the future of the Riverport and our region—expanding our rail capabilities, increasing efficiency, and strengthening our ability to serve our customers and support continued economic growth.

We’re proud to see this project move from planning to construction and excited about what it will mean for our customers, our community, and the future of Owensboro Riverport.

A big thank-you to everyone who has helped make this project possible. The future is moving forward—and we’re building it one rail at a time!

Owensboro didn't wait around. Just months after Kentucky passed the enabling legislation in 1966, we were one of the first cities to establish a riverport authority. Doors opened in 1976 and we haven't slowed down since.
