74 super rocket (p337) power pack. presented as lazy gear. started out as a non green light on landing. chasing switches and such was fun, but after 2 mx flights the problem was still there! retracted and extended fine on the jack but in the air, no green light! listen people. if your gear hasn't been rebuilt in 20 years.... it's an issue. o rings only last so long. In this example, the power pack oil pump ate itself, priority valve is worn so much it wouldnt make pressure.. after rebuilding a few actuators (down lock) the gear wouldn't cycle at all, and the priority valve was the culprit. had this airplane flown again, the gear may not have cycled at all, as it didn't on the jacks! the screen there is the filter right after the pump. not an alarmist here. just a psa. as an aside, the orings in the downlocks crumbled like ashes when replaced.

Alright... paint is just about done. That metallic blue and charcoal really set it off. On to reassembly! There's a lot of clear there, but she's 40 lbs lighter than she was with the 3 coats of scuff and shoot she came with. Wait until the interior!

Well after a small delay, here is the old girl finally in action! Gus Meyjes will be taking delivery VERY soon, as we are just finishing up the interior work (and some break in time on that new engine!) More to come!
