Founded in Goleta, CA in 1965 by Bob Blois, Blois Construction, Inc.®, based in Oxnard, CA, has retained the same core values and practices for over forty years --- an emphasis on quality of service and integrity as the backbone of its daily operations. Jim Blois, President and second generation Owner of the company, assumed control in 2003 in a buy out of his brother, Steve. The two brothers had
collaborated as equal partners for close to ten years. Since the buy out Blois has experienced significant growth and has effectively transitioned, as a company, to deal with the associated opportunities and challenges. With an emphasis on collaboration, teamwork communication and "learning," Blois has made great strides in further strengthening its capabilities and competitiveness over both the short and the long run in the construction industry. Blois is a heavy underground contractor and has been involved in a broad range of projects --- sewer, water, storm drain, water channel, treatment facilities, pump stations, etc. --- in a variety of markets --- commercial, industrial, school, infrastructure and residential --- in Southern California. Project sizes can vary from $100,000 to $30 million. In fact, it is the company's versatility and experience, adaptability and close trade union affiliations that are key to its success. Blois is fortunate to have life long employees throughout all levels of the organization. As an example, seven of Blois Project Superintendents are members of the company's Hall of Fame, with over 20 years of service. In turn, the "family culture" has helped to attract and retain relatives of these employees. In addition, unlike many in its field, Blois has consistently been engaged in a broad variety of both public and private work and has performed its work as both a general contractor and as a subcontractor. This flexibility has resulted in established relationships and testimonials with a diversified group of owners and many national and regional general contractors.
