Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary branch of engineering that combines mechanical engineering, computer science, and control systems to design and build intelligent, automated machines.

Walden Environmental Engineering was recently invited to tour the new Mechatronics Lab at Dutchess Community College. Led by Nick Lane, Coordinator of Mechatronics, the lab provides a 6,000 sq. ft. hands-on learning experience for students wishing to study automation, electronics, mechanical systems, and HVAC. Several local-area companies participated in creating a skills list for future employees, which guided the selection of learning content and hands-on equipment with real-world applications.

Walden is thankful for the opportunity to connect with this extraordinary new program and looks forward to partnering with Dutchess Community College in the future.
