Dale McDowell and Shane McDowell Racing are
Dale McDowell of Shane McDowell Racing on his third place finish at Eldora Speedway during the FloRacing Night in America series:
"I had to use that bottom line. That's an old guy line down there. My son just asked me if I was tired. 'Not where I'm running it's not that bad.' But just keep the car straight and I really didn't know-. I can't look at the board. I'll crash or do something. I didn't know where we were at. I knew we'd passed some cars and was just trying to keep it all together. Keep the tires under me.
So I'm just blessed. Blessed to be here. Thank the good Lord above for a good safe race and health to be able to keep doing this. This is awesome. Just turned 60 here a couple of weeks ago. So if I can get out there and race with those guys it makes it fun."
When asked if he would join the FloRacing broadcast and they would kick Randy Weaver out, he said, "No, we don't need to kick Randy out. He and I would have fun together. But I will. I'd be glad to come up there and do that. Yes sir, I'd be glad to.
I'll tell you what, I was glad you guys come over here 'cause we got so much support. I feel blessed that we had all the support all over the years. Don't know how much further we're going to go with everything. Ace Doran come on this year and that's been a big help. Each and every one of them. Mike Reece come on board last year and Reece Monuments. That helped out a ton. Benedum's companies: Black Rock, BSI Well Service. Klotz has been with us for years and years. Cometic and Remtek came on board with us this year. Jeep and Angie's Northeastern. They'll be here tomorrow. So he wasn't here tonight to give me driving lessons and pumping me up. Just everybody. All my Cleveland bunch. Campbell Insulation, M&S Motors, Arendale, Mark IV, Otterly Baths - Percy's here. He's been over there with us, been supporting us. Otterly Baths' awesome. Clements and we still got that Bloomquist guy up here.
This thing is 7 years old. It's a testament to not only him, but Randy Sweet when they designed these cars. And my brother. Shane's worked his tail off to make them better. And I just try to tell him what I feel like I may need and it works out okay. I don't think I'm forgetting anybody. I am forgetting somebody. My buddy in Alabama, Jason Wright, I had dinner with him last night, him and his wife. Thanks Jason for coming on board. Just everybody.
I'm just so happy to be here. Hope we can keep it up. They make it tough. It's tough. I mean it's really tough out there to be in the right position. You've got to have good qualifying. We got a little bit of a break and went out early. Hopefully, we can keep the weekend going. I've been coming up here a long time and enjoy the heck out of it. So maybe we can keep it going."
