Skamlingsbanken Visitor Center in Sjølund, Denmark, designed by CEBRA and completed in 2021, is seamlessly integrated into the rolling moraine landscape formed during the last Ice Age.

The center serves as a gateway to Skamlingsbanken's rich history of democratic gatherings and debates, including those on women's suffrage and national identity. Its design features curved cuts in the terrain, creating a subtle architectural presence that blends with the natural surroundings. Inside, the use of local materials like clay-plastered walls and fieldstone terrazzo floors reflects the site's geological heritage. The project also expanded the protected area around the center from 35 to 128 hectares, enhancing local biodiversity.
