That’s been Jake Davies for us this past year.
What stands out most isn’t just what he’s accomplished, it’s how he shows up. When things needed support, he didn’t wait around for direction or a new title. He stepped in, helped where it mattered, brought clarity when things got messy, and kept things moving forward.
Now he’s not just supporting… he’s leading. Teams, projects, and big pieces of what we’ve got going on. And he does it the right way.

As we head into a busy spring and summer, a lot of the real work is happening behind the scenes.
Our team’s been in the office dialing things in, fine-tuning processes, tightening up how we operate, and making sure we’re set up to hit the ground running.

What started as barge schedules, material shipments, and a stack of drawings is now a finished six-plex ready to serve the community.
Building in remote Alaska demands planning, grit, and a crew that knows how to solve problems on the fly. Weather windows are tight, logistics are unforgiving, and there’s no room for shortcuts. This team showed up every day ready to figure it out and get it done right.
The building matters. The people who built it matter more.

Hard to believe what can happen in just 8 months.
Not long ago this was dirt, stakes in the ground, and a set of plans. Now it’s a fully connected healthcare facility serving the Homer community.
No shortcuts. Just a hardworking crew, solid coordination, and a commitment to getting it done right the first time.
Healthcare projects raise the bar. Every system has to work. Every detail matters. And every day counts.
Really proud of our team for bringing this one across the finish line in under a year. This building will serve families here for decades.

Before ➜ After.
This custom ceiling grid on our Homer project looks clean and simple now, but it took a lot of hard work, precision, and patience to get it there.
Big shoutout to Elijah Ward, the genius behind this install. The attention to detail on this one was next level. Every line, every intersection, dialed.
This is the kind of work that looks easy when it’s done right… and that’s exactly the point.
Proud of the crew and the craftsmanship that went into this space.

This summer, we brought Gabe Pepperd onto the SD Construction team to help with our Homer project. Partway through the job, our superintendent had a family emergency and had to leave the state, and Gabe stepped in to take over the project.

It wasn’t a simple handoff. He walked into a live job with schedule pressure, site challenges, and a lot of moving parts. Gabe handled it with steady leadership, clear communication, and a great attitude. He pushed through the hurdles, kept things moving, and delivered the project on time. Even better, he built strong relationships with the client and the staff working on site every day.

As this job wraps up, Gabe heads back to his other job next week. We’ll definitely miss having him around, and we’d happily bring him back anytime. He made a big impact in a short amount of time, and we’re grateful for the effort he put in.

Thanks, Gabe. You stepped up when it mattered, and that doesn’t go unnoticed.

We wrapped up a blue-tape walkthrough with the client on our Homer project, pretty standard stuff. Mark the punch list, come back the next day, and take care of the details.

When our crew showed up the following morning, they found more blue tape all over the jobsite… but this time, every piece had a handwritten note on it. Personal messages thanking the crew for their hard work, care, and professionalism.

That’s a pretty great way to start the day.

This is what we aim for at SD Construction, not just a job well done, but a project delivered on time with clients and stakeholders who feel good about the process and the people behind the work. Huge credit to our crew for earning this kind of feedback.

These notes meant a lot, and they’re definitely sticking with us.

First Monday back, and the SD Construction team is already firing on all cylinders. The break is over, the pace is up, and our crews, both in the field and in the office, are locked in and ready to drive serious momentum this year.

We’re stepping into 2026 with ambitious goals, a stronger operational backbone, and a team that’s hungry to execute. Alaska doesn’t hand out easy projects, and that’s exactly why we’re leaning in with purpose, discipline, and a sharpened edge.

This year is about raising our standard, strengthening partnerships, delivering high-impact work, and proving, again, why SD Construction is built for the complex, the remote, and the mission-critical.
