VAST Steel is proud to honor the sacrifices of those who served our country. We especially honor both of our founders’ grandfathers, Alex Dubee (photo shown) and John Yerke (photo of his canteen shown). These amazing men served our country during WW2. Their courage, discipline, and commitment helped shape the values we carry forward at VAST Steel today. Their legacy lives on not only in remembrance, but in the work we do every day: building with integrity, resilience and purpose. We are grateful for all who served and gave so much for future generations 🇺🇸

Continuing our conversation on Mental Health Awareness Month! Here at VAST, we believe Mental Health is part of workplace safety. Physical safety is directly tied to mental wellness. We are cultivating a culture of holistic safety and wellness here at VAST Steel - tying in the mind/body connection and educating our employees on this relationship. Some of the ways we incorporate supporting mental safety and wellness include:
▫️Frequent team lunches and seasonal merchandise- letting our field workers know they are valued and important to us.
▫️Safety touch point meetings that include metal wellness education.
▫️Creating an environment of peer support. Encouraging our foreman and crew leaders to check in on our field workers mental and physical health daily.
▫️Family-First Culture, always!
▫️Facilitating conversations surrounding mental health and wellness. Encouraging our employees to participate in health insurance so they can take advantage of the many mental health benefits that are offered.
▫️Encouraging time off. We are not robots. We need time to rest, rejuvenate and experience joy away from the workplace. Vacation time is highly encouraged and welcomed!
