Although effective, this method is dangerous, time-consuming, and expensive. military has successfully used the GEON E61's onboard precision metal detector for more than two decades. Using the GEON E61, the GPS coordinates of metallic objects can be more safely provided to EOD personnel in a fraction of the time and expense. Flight plans are easily configured with user-friendly smartphone and tablet apps, and missions can be launched in minutes. Besides saving significant time and expense compared to manual surveys, safety is greatly improved since personnel don’t have to enter dangerous search areas during surveys.

ArroTech was proud to participate in the Artemis II Junior Aeronautical Summer STEM Camp in Lynn Haven, Florida, where we introduced middle school students to the GEON E61 autonomous drone/metal-detecting system and its life-saving mission.

Together with representatives of the U.S. Navy, Air Force Research Laboratory, Panama City Fire Department and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, ArroTech shared how technology can make a real difference in the world.

Students learned that the GEON E61 helps detect landmines and unexploded ordnance, making contaminated land safer for communities. Their curiosity and thoughtful questions about drone technology were impressive.
