We were honored yesterday to host Senator Grassley during his 99 county tour across Iowa.

During the visit, we had the opportunity to share more about our businesses, our people, and the work we do to support infrastructure across Iowa. The Q&A also allowed for conversation with members of our team and invited guests on topics including health insurance, infrastructure, and fiber optics. We appreciated the chance to open our doors and highlight our industry.

We were happy to welcome students from Panorama High School out to Iowa Trenchless for a closer look at what we do.

During their visit, our owner Jason and superintendent Brandon gave the group a hands-on look at how our boring machine and tunnel machine work, what they’re used for, and how these methods help us get the job done smarter. Jason also shared some of the history behind Iowa Trenchless and talked about the importance of using the right equipment to make the work safer, more efficient, and a little easier on our crews.

We always appreciate opportunities like this to connect with local students and introduce them to the trades. There are so many ways to build a successful future, and not every path has to include a 4-year degree and a mountain of debt. Skilled trades offer real opportunities, valuable experience, and careers that make a difference.

We added another level to our annual safety training this year.

Iowa State Patrol Trooper Kirkpatrick with the Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit came out to our shop and walked our team through a live inspection on a loaded semi, covering the importance of thorough pre-trip inspections before hitting the road.

It was a great reminder that safety doesn’t start on the jobsite — it starts before the wheels ever turn. From load securement to equipment checks, the details matter.

We appreciate the time and insight. The guys walked away with key knowledge they can put to use every single day to keep our crews and others on the road safe.

Contractor Solutions was back with us for our annual CPR and First Aid training.

We’re always glad to have Josh Snyder return each year. He does a great job keeping the material practical, engaging, and relevant to the situations our crews could actually face. From hands-on CPR practice to real-world scenarios, the guys stay involved and walk away confident in what they’ve learned.

Keeping our team up to date on CPR and First Aid isn’t optional, it’s essential to keep safety at our forefront.

We’re always glad to welcome Jacob Ponce back each year. He knows his stuff, keeps it real, and connects with our crew in a way that actually sticks. The guys are always engaged, asking questions, and walking away with knowledge they can take straight to the field.
