During this time, victims of are facing extreme barriers to safety, health services, housing, and employment. Because of the coronavirus, they are in grave danger.
Survivors need help now! Help Shelter's Right Hand ensure their safety by participating in their Virtual Walk on Saturday, April 25th.
Shelter's Right Hand 5K Walk Goes Virtual!
Shelter's Right Hand 24th Annual 5K Walk to benefit the Women's and Children's Crisis Shelter is being transformed into a Virtual Walk. The open event will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2020 broadcasting live between the hours of 9-11am. Instead of gathering in Central Park, Whittier, the walk will be hosted via Facebook and Instagram.
Anyone can participate. Simply choose your location and walk/run/bike at your own pace. Or you can participate with stay-at-home enthusiasm in your home or yard. Anytime during the day invite your family and friends to join in at a safe distance, then post a photo or a short video using . We will be focusing on thanking our sponsors, supporting organizations/businesses and walkers, raising awareness about domestic violence in these times and promoting a positive experience for our surrounding communities.
Donations of any amount are always welcome at sheltersrighthand.org.
All donations and monies raised go directly to the Women's and Children's Crisis Shelter, a nonprofit organization providing a shelter, safety and hope to victims of domestic violence. WCCS is committed to breaking the cycle of violence while helping families take steps toward healing and wholeness.

Shelter's Right Hand is an all-volunteer, nonprofit auxillary raising funds, promoting awareness and lending support to the Women's and Children's Crisis Shelter. Our 5K Walk is held annually in April and generally draws about 700 participants. Since 1981 Shelter's Right Hand has raised over 2.5 million dollars for victims and survivors at WCCS.
