Sorry we have been MIA. Long story short on July 3 a 6 foot diameter tree fell on our machine shop garage.. total bummer dude.. almost lost my finger in the construction process, they put it back together and I’ll have full recovery. Since we have been big making progress on finishing the building and getting back to it. I figured a photo log would best explain what we have been up against the last 6 weeks. 👍

Hello Subaru Fans,
We are running at 20% - A Tree Fell On Our Machine Shop Garage at my house, and totaled the building. Machines are ok, but for the last week I have been clearing out the shop saving the tooling and gauges from this current brutal humidity. We where fully insured, and are planning to rebuild. Our main shop in Plainwell where we do tear down and assembly will still be open. I have a handful of machined blocks and heads that I am going to assemble in the meantime. If you have a job in here feel free to call me anytime at 269-282-8067, as I will have my phone on me as usual.

The tree is MASSIVE.. Still is sitting on the shop making it dangerous to enter as the tree can shift... Crew is starting tomorrow to chop it up. I will have my Hone, Surfacer, and Seat/Guide Machine moved ASAP(2-3 Weeks) to a temporary location while we build a new shop.

Sorry for the delays this is causing some customer, we are going to be back at 100% fast (2-3 Weeks).

Lastly, there is a lot of GOOD THINGS happening here before the tree. We did find some good reliable help in the shop. I have been interviewing the prior weeks, with positive results. Also, we are making our own Fire Hoops/Rings, along with our own proprietary Sleeves. Our first sleeve that will be ready is for the EZ30! We also have a sleeve program started for the FA24! So have been making progress in the development sector.

So that has been what is going on.

Subaru EJ SOHC cam journal wear from a failed rod bearing. How many have had this lovely experience?? 😅😢. I have a 1.250” Sunnen line hone that I may be able to repair journals. I basically will have to trim the cam cap down .005” to shrink the cam bore before honing. I have the tooling here I just have to a few test runs dialing in the honing stones. As for the cam.. I’ll see what size it is after a cleanup polish.

Hello Subaru Fans🤓👍 Jon here from SubieMachine.com💥 I’m doing a Piston Comparison on dome heights for everyone wondering about the TOPLINE “hybrid” piston. Manufacture claims it fits both EJ255 and EJ257, so I am going to fine out of that is true 😇. I did take a lot of photos and a video so we can get Subie Machine on YouTube.
