We welcomed a group of students from the Wichita Public Schools Future Ready Center manufacturing pathway to NWI Wichita for a firsthand look at aluminum machining. ✈️🔧

The students already have experience with desktop CNC machines in their program at the Future Ready Center. Our machines are… well, a bit bigger. 😊

The visit gave students an opportunity to see how the skills they’re developing in the classroom translate into real-world aerospace manufacturing—from large-scale CNC machining to the people, processes, and technology behind the work.

Thanks to VP/GM Andy Ford and Project Engineering & Planning Supervisor Randall Reed, for leading tours, sharing their expertise, and answering questions along the way.

We’re proud to support programs that give students a closer look at careers in advanced manufacturing and help connect classroom learning with real-world opportunities.

NWI Wichita and the Glass Foundation is proud to present a check to the Wichita Public Schools as the Presenting Sponsor of the Air Capital Showdown, a VEX Robotics Signature Event. 🤖

This international robotics tournament brings teams together to compete, innovate, and showcase their engineering skills. As one of a select number of VEX Signature Events worldwide, the Air Capital Showdown offers students the opportunity to compete for qualification to the VEX Robotics World Championship.

At NWI, we understand that the future of aerospace and advanced manufacturing depends on developing talented problem-solvers, engineers, machinists, and innovators. Through robotics, students gain hands-on experience in design, programming, manufacturing, teamwork, and leadership—skills that will help shape the future of our industry.

We recently welcomed CEO Walt Sirmans to our Wichita site for a town hall meeting, where he shared updates on our growth, customer opportunities, and investments in our future.

🚀 Growing in the space market

Sales through the end of August were up significantly over last year, reflecting continued strong growth in our core markets. Growth in the space market is creating exciting opportunities for NWI Aerostructures and our Wichita team.

As demand increases, so does our need for skilled CNC machinists and CMM operators. We are actively hiring for these positions and looking for individuals who want to be part of a growing aerospace manufacturing team.

Our new pallet system is being installed this month for three new Makino MAG3EX machines, expanding our Wichita operations with our fifth MAG3 cell.

We traded the shop floor for a day of fun at Exploration Place, where a record number of NWI Wichita employees, friends and family members came together to enjoy a little celebration at our annual company picnic. 🙌

From BBQ and a popcorn bar to dome theater shows, prizes, an amazing new playground and all the hands-on exhibits Exploration Place has to offer, there was something for everyone! 🍿🎟️🔬

Most importantly, it was a great opportunity to slow down, have some fun and spend time with the people who make NWI Wichita such a great place to work.

The NWI Wichita team recently enjoyed a little something sweet for a great cause! We hosted an ice cream sundae bar fundraiser to support our local United Way of the Plains.

Our team got to build their perfect sundae—with plenty of ice cream, toppings and maybe a little friendly debate over the best combination. 😋🍨

It was a fun way to take a break, connect with coworkers and, most importantly, support an organization making a difference in our local community.

We were excited to welcome the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) to NWI Nashville!

Jacob Benton and Brannon Pfeffer spent time with the SME team sharing more about NWI Nashville, our operations, and—most importantly—our machining capabilities.

The SME group came with great questions and a genuine interest in learning more about what we do and the precision, expertise, and teamwork that go into supporting the aerospace industry.

We enjoyed the opportunity to showcase what makes NWI Nashville unique, highlight our machining capabilities, and connect with others who share our passion for manufacturing.

NWI Nashville had a great time visiting TCAT Smyrna! Megan Mueller, HR Generalist with NWI Nashville, had the opportunity to meet with students in the Machine Tooling Technology program and connect with instructors Mike Schoen (pictured) and Christopher Blackburn.

It was a great chance to learn more about the program, hear about students’ skills and career goals, and share more about the opportunities available in aerospace manufacturing. ✈️🔧

The future of our industry depends on skilled people—and partnerships with technical education programs like TCAT Smyrna play an important role in preparing that next generation.

NWI Nashville recently celebrated a remarkable milestone—2,000 deliveries supporting the Airbus A330 and A340 programs.

The event brought together NWI employees alongside distinguished guests from local, state, and federal government offices, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, and a special group of retirees whose contributions helped shape the Airbus program throughout the years.

We were honored to hear remarks from Stuart McWhorter, Deputy Governor and Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, and Rob Campbell, Head of Wing Details Procurement at Airbus, as well as NWI Aerostructures CEO Walt Sirmans and NWI Nashville VP/GM Keith Jennette.

This milestone reflects decades of dedication, partnership, and manufacturing excellence from our Nashville team. Following the ceremony, employees and guests gathered for a food truck luncheon to celebrate this achievement together.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of this program. Here's to continued growth, strong partnerships, and many more milestones ahead.
