Water damage isn’t just about replacing the flooring—it’s about making sure the home is restored the right way from the ground up.

This home suffered a toilet overflow on the main level, causing water damage to the flooring, subfloor, drywall, trim, and other building materials. Our Drake’s Disaster Restoration team responded quickly to begin the drying process, remove the damaged materials, and prepare the home for reconstruction.

As you can see from these photos, there’s a tremendous amount of preparation that happens before the new floor ever goes down. We removed the damaged glue-down flooring, pulled thousands of staples, removed baseboards and shoe molding where necessary, thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed the entire surface, and carefully prepared the floor before installing new 1/4-inch underlayment. Every step is critical to ensure the finished luxury vinyl plank flooring is smooth, durable, and built to last.

Sometimes you have to make a mess to make it beautiful.

Sometimes a “simple porch repair” turns into much more than anyone expected.

This front porch had begun settling around the columns, causing uneven floors and structural concerns. Our original plan was to make the necessary repairs, but once we carefully removed the porch flooring, we uncovered extensive hidden rot throughout the framing.

Instead of covering up the problem, we did what was right.

Our crew removed all of the damaged structural lumber, carefully jacked the porch back into its original position, leveled and stabilized the structure, replaced the rotten framing with new treated lumber, and rebuilt the porch from the ground up. The result is a porch that’s not only beautiful again—it’s safe, solid, and built to last for years to come.

Many times, water damage hides beneath the surface where homeowners can’t see it. That’s why it’s so important to address structural issues correctly rather than simply replacing what is visible.

Project Progress Update!

We’re excited to share the start of another custom remodeling project!

This young couple recently purchased their first home, but there was one major inconvenience—the house didn’t have an interior staircase to the basement. Every time they needed to access it, they had to walk outside and around to the back of the house.

Our team is changing that!

We removed walls, framed a new stairwell opening, and custom-built a brand-new interior staircase that will provide safe, convenient access to the basement from inside the home. This is a huge improvement that will make their home much more functional and add long-term value.

🚧 This project is still in progress. We still have:
✅ Drywall installation and finishing
✅ Handrail installation
✅ Final trim work and finishing touches

We’re looking forward to showing everyone the completed transformation soon!

Project Update – Day 1!

Our crew is making great progress on another exterior renovation!

Today we completed the demolition and prep work, removing the old siding and getting this home ready for its transformation. It’s always exciting to see the before-and-during stages as a project starts to come together.
