Job Overview
Mid-Way Concrete Products is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks, concrete mixers, and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, ensuring our vehicles and equipment are safe, reliable, and operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in diesel engines and heavy equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, brake adjustments, and system inspections.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Service and maintain concrete mixer trucks, loaders, and other company vehicles.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Operate diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and solutions.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize and schedule repairs.
• Ensure the shop and work areas are clean, organized, and safe.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred).
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostics.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment and concrete mixer maintenance is a plus.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred or willingness to obtain.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in various conditions, including outdoors and in noisy environments.
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and working under vehicles.
