Bellhole Technicians from our Orange, CA office
POSITION SUMMARY
As a bellhole technician, you will be responsible for conducting direct examinations on interstate pipelines using various NDT and corrosion inspection methods. Daily tasks can include corrosion mapping, ultrasonic thickness testing, magnetic particle testing, pipe to soils, soils resistivity, GPS, Shearwave ultrasound, phased array ultrasound, and additional other advanced ultrasonics. You will work directly with the clients and will have varying schedules. Must be independently motivated. We are looking for loyal confident individuals that are career oriented.
Perform inspections of existing pipeline coatings and condition, documenting coating anomalies. Perform testing pertaining to Cathodic Protection. Perform visual inspections of pipeline, measuring and documenting metal loss type defects. Perform MT evaluations, evaluate and document any linear indications, conduct integrity calculations, and document and validate repairs. Documenting and reporting are equally as important as the inspection itself.
Specific Daily Work Requirements:
• Extensive pipeline integrity and regular non-destructive examination knowledge
• Prepare a final report for each inspection site and all the data collected
• Work with the client as the first point of contact regarding daily inspection reports.
• Ensure timely inspection report turn over to Project Managers as outlined in the
• Establish and maintain positive professional relationships with internal employees and external customers.
• Assure safety standards are adhered to referencing Coast to Coast Safety Manual.
• Firm knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Email is required
• Knowledge of Abnormal Operating Conditions and pipeline safety
• OSHA training is preferred
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license and driving record meeting established standard
• Heavy travel will be required
• Good command of the English language, oral and written.
• Knowledge of cathodic protection and corrosion cells • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS:
• NDE MT Level II & UT Level II (Required)
• UT Level II Shearwave capable (Preferred)
• PAUT Classroom, OJT and Certification (Desired)
• Associates Degree in NDE (Preferred)
• NACE CP or CIP certifications (Preferred)
Additional training and certifications will be provided as needed to fulfill the inspection requirements desired by our clients and to advance the careers of the selected candidates.
