As of 5 p.m. on Friday, June 12, approximately 160 EIEC members remain without power.

Our crews continue to make steady progress and will work into the evening to restore as many remaining outages as possible. After an extended restoration effort, our line crews will take a well-earned rest overnight and resume work early Saturday morning.

The safety of both our members and our employees remains our top priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore power to everyone affected by the storm.

Summer outages can happen, that's why it's important to make sure you and all your family members know where they store flashlights and batteries for situations such as these. #PowerOn

The storms that rolled through last night caused significant damage throughout our system. At the peak of the outages, approximately 6,800 of our 13,500 meters were without power.

As of 8 a.m. on Friday, June 12, we have restored service to many members, but approximately 4,000 members remain without power as our crews continue restoration efforts.

Our crews are working as quickly and safely as possible. Because of the extent of the storm damage, restoration times will vary depending on the repairs needed in each area. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore service.

As of 12:30 am, we have 88 outages with 6,851 meters off from our total of 13,500. This is just over half our system. A total of eight of our substations are currently offline due to the intense storms that went through our area: Buckley, Clifton, Donovan, Gilman, Mahomet, Papineau, Watseka, and Woodland.

Our crews will work as safely and quickly as possible to get all members restored. Due to the high winds and extensive tree damage, it will most likely be Friday morning after daylight before we can fully assess the complete destruction and finalize a plan for restoration.

This week, we are proud to recognize the dedicated team members who help keep our system running safely and reliably. Our right-of-way professionals work year-round to maintain clear access to power lines, manage vegetation and ensure safe distances between trees and electrical equipment. Their work plays a critical role in preventing outages and protecting our community. Join us in thanking these behind-the-scenes heroes during Right-of-Way Professionals Week!
