Did you know? When Southern Cross opened its doors in 1946, the entire U.S. natural gas network stretched just 77,000 miles. Today, it spans more than 3 million miles, which is enough pipe to wrap around the Earth 120 times.

It's easy to forget how much infrastructure sits quietly beneath our streets, or how many hands it takes to keep it running safely. The work in this photo looks a little different now, but the job hasn't really changed: one survey, one meter, one mile at a time.

Reflecting on our roots is an incredible experience, but at Southern Cross, looking back is only useful if it helps us see further ahead. We carry the grit of 1946 into every project we touch in 2026.
