What a season it’s been so far.

It’s hard to put into words how thankful we are for every hiker who chose to stay with us this year. Every person who came up the driveway brought their own story, personality, and energy, and together you’ve made this first season beyond memorable.

We’ve shared meals, stories, laughs, bear spray, music, coffee on the porch, late-night conversations, & just amazing company.
We’ve watched hikers arrive exhausted & leave refreshed.
We’ve been honored to be a small part of so many journeys.

Running a hostel takes a lot of work, but seasons like this one remind us exactly why we do it.

Thank you for trusting us with a small piece of your adventure.
Thank you for your kindness, your support, and for making this place feel alive.

We hope to see many more hikers in the months and years to come, and we can’t wait to welcome the next wave of hikers.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for making this season such a beautiful one. ❤️🥾🏕️
Turk truly appreciates each & every Hiker….

Happy trails & much love
From all of us @ Angels Rest Hikers Haven

trail safety

Multiple hikers have recently reported having uncomfortable & concerning interactions with another hiker on trail.
Several people have shared experiences that have left them feeling unsafe...enough to switch up their hiking plans.
Nothing physical happened, but it left those involved feeling uneasy.
They're doing everything they can to avoid any future run in’s with this other hiker to make themselves feel better during their hike.

This post isn’t to “go after” anyone—it’s to bring awareness about being safe on trail & to be aware of your surroundings.
As well as to make sure to keep others informed about your situation, especially if you are having any questionable experiences that make you feel uncomfortable.

We want to remind everyone that your safety & comfort MATTER.

If someone is making you feel threatened, intimidated, harassed, or unsafe in ANY form, trust your instincts, connect with others & let people know what’s happening.

Safety reminders:

🥾 Hike with others when possible if you’re feeling uneasy.

📱 Keep in contact with friends, family, local hostel owners, shuttle drivers, &/or fellow hikers.

📍 Let friends/family know your plans & expected destination/time.

📖 Report concerning behavior to appropriate authorities, trail organizations, park staff, hostel owners, or local law enforcement when warranted.

🤝 Look out for one another. The trail community is strongest when hikers support & protect each other.

If you’re experiencing concerning behavior from anyone on trail, please don’t assume you’re the only one.

Speaking out may help others make informed decisions for their safety as well as get the support needed.
You are not alone...

Stay safe out there & take care of each other. ❤️

Some people leave footprints…..
and some leave full bellies, smiling faces, and memories hikers carry for miles. 🥾❤️

Huge thank you to trail angel Sir Stop A Lot for stopping by once again to do a hiker feed at Angels Rest! 🍤🥤

Year after year, he shows up for the hiking community with the help of fundraising, fellow hikers, and kind folks who simply want to give back.
It’s people like this who keep the spirit of the trail alive. ✨

A hot meal may seem simple, but after long days, sore feet, heat, and never ending miles… it means the world.

We’re grateful for the kindness, the generosity, and the tradition.
The trail is better because of people like you. 💚

One of the sweetest parts of hostel life is getting to witness families out here chasing big dreams together. ❤️

This amazing family of four (Fam4) stayed with us while hiking the Appalachian Trail.

The kids were so awesome, and just in case you were wondering, they LOVE hiking!

After long miles on trail, the kids settled in with movies, games, laughter, and some seriously impressive artwork that now has a special place here at the hostel. 🥹

There’s something really beautiful about watching children grow up in the middle of adventure — learning resilience, kindness, creativity, and how little you actually need to be happy.

The AT has a way of turning strangers into friends and simple moments into memories you hang onto for a long time.
Thank you for allowing us the pleasure of hosting you guys as well as gifting us with some amazing fridge art!!
Can’t wait to see you guys in front of that Mt Katadhin sign!!
