Ten years ago, an employee from our Polishing department submitted an idea through the company suggestion system to start honoring Veterans within the company for Veteran’s Day. The idea was welcomed and implemented as an annual event. WKW has been honoring their Veterans at their plant ever since.

This year was no different. The main break room reflected the patriotism, pride and gratitude we have for our Veterans. The highlight of this celebration was the presentation of flags by the Pell City High School JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) led by SFC Agnew. Flags of all the Armed Forces were presented during the celebration.

After the attendees recited the pledge of allegiance, a wonderful rendition of the National Anthem was sung by our team member, Travis Johnson. Once the Veterans completed their lunch, they all had the chance to exchange experiences and memories from their time of service.

As always, it was a great honor for WKW to show our appreciation for OUR Veterans!

WKW North America has partnered with AIDT*, to offer our leaders an opportunity to cultivate their skills through this three-part Leadership Development Series. These classes focus on skills that all leaders need to be effective in their roles. Our leaders are learning how to build a leadership foundation, leading through others, and leading oneself.

*AIDT is a state agency established to build a healthy state economy by recruiting and training a skilled workforce to attract new industries to the state and to expand existing industries.
