I have been hesitant about whether to make this post because a life was lost at Six Flags just yesterday, while some of our production team was there. We are mourning with the family who lost someone so precious to them. To the family impacted by this tragedy, please accept our sincere condolences for your loss.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

We traveled to Six Flags to celebrate our team for reaching a huge milestone. We’re so grateful for all the hard work and dedication that made it happen. We’re holding our team close in our hearts and celebrating their milestone with gratitude—while keeping everyone affected by this tragedy in our thoughts and prayers.

Pictured: a 3.5-inch hole drilled through a 10-inch-thick plate—a diameter equal to 35% of the plate thickness. 🔥

Our usual heavy-plate benchmark is a hole diameter no smaller than half the plate thickness. On a 10-inch plate, that means a 5-inch hole.

Before the machine gets its own employee-of-the-month parking spot—haha—we want to recognize the person behind the result!

👏 Special shout-out to Frank Leach, the operator who made it happen. Frank pierced the hole and then went straight into continuous cutting—nonstop. Where we’d traditionally drill or lance a starting hole before running the cut, he handled the piercing and cutting as one continuous operation. The setup, strategy, technique, and adjustments take real experience. Apparently, that experience isn’t included with the “START” button. 😎

Looking for a home: 🐕 🐶

We’ve seen these two running around outside for the past few days, and we’ve been trying to lure them closer by feeding them and providing fresh water. Early this morning, we were finally able to trap them, and Jackson County, GA Animal Shelter came to pick them up.

They assured us they will be spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and then they’ll be put up for adoption. They’re very close to each other—extremely frightened—and they wouldn’t leave one another’s side. We’re hopeful (and mostly praying) that they’ll be adopted together. 🙏 If anyone is willing to adopt these two dogs together, Steel Plate will happily cover the adoption cost for both dogs.

Today, I’m especially thankful for a team of employees who are always so helpful and who drop everything in a moment’s notice to assist stray animals that show up at Steel Plate. This team truly cares.

Shout-out to Mike Sinclair, Kennedy Donnelly, Ericka Magallanes, Evan Padovani, Noah Kenney, Myles Kenney, Justin Hunter, Jallah Zeze, and Heather Huff for helping with this rescue. From the pictures I received, to checking for them each day, putting out dog food and fresh water, setting up the trap and checking on it every hour, and making many calls to find a shelter—these people are incredible, with the biggest, best hearts. 🤎
