Old Virginia Log Homes and Axe Handle Distilling has openings for two motivated people. Both positions must be applied for in person at Old Virginia Log Homes. NO PHONE CALLS.

Old Virginia Log Homes: Road Crew/ laborer. Manual labor and duties can range from constructing log homes to mowing grass. Out of town travel is a must. Must be able to do manual labor out doors. When it is hot you are hot and when it is cold you dress warm. Must be able to read a tape measure. Applicant must have a driver's license and be dependable. Pay based on experience. Class B CDL is a massive plus!

Axe Handle Distilling: Bartender/Distillation Staff. Sometimes dusty and often hot work. However, a very cool environment. The ideal candidate will excel at interacting with the public as they are not only a representative of our business but also our counties tourism as a whole. Must be able to lift 50lbs and climb a ladder. Must be 21 and have a clean criminal history with no felonies.

Like most things there have been some delays but the end is in sight! The Cumberland Bowl Pavilion in Town of Jonesville Virginia will soon be ready for use!

Memorial Day.

I am sitting here comfortable on my couch with someone I love asleep on my shoulder. I am fed, I am content, and I am safe.

Throughout our country’s history many have sacrificed all to give me this blessing. I don’t mean veterans. That would include me but, Memorial Day isn’t about veterans. It is about all of those that are no longer here with us because they took an oath and fulfilled that to the fullest. All those men and women lost for our nation and our people.

This Memorial Day many of us will have a holiday and we will celebrate. What will we be celebrating? An enormous sacrifice. Often we forget that part. Fear, pain, and loss, but I know with certainty that those brave souls want us to celebrate. To love family and to be together. To simply be American and enjoy the true blessing that is.

However, we ask you a favor. We would ask that tomorrow between the cookouts and the sales at your favorite stores that you stop and think of those who gave all. A silent prayer, perhaps succinct in the moment. Thank you God for the willingness and sacrifice of others and may we never forget it…It’s that simple.

God bless America and God bless the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines that gave their lives to this great Republic. We pray we can keep it.

We are working towards a finished pavilion at the Cumberland Bowl Park in the Town of Jonesville Virginia!

Austin Dorman has done an amazing job on this project and is responsible not just for overseeing the project but also for doing most all of the finish work himself!

Let’s get a new roof over the bathrooms…and as you can see we had to extend the chimney a bit. Soon to be ready to use in the Town of Jonesville Virginia in the Cumberland Bowl Park.
