Employees report to the main office daily for transportation to the jobsites in crew vehicles.

Daily tasks include but are not limited to: Excavation by equipment and by hand tools, installation of all manner of water, sewer and storm drainage pipe and accessories, backfill and compaction, daily routine equipment maintenance, site demolition, site restoration including concrete and asphalt repairs.

Rate of pay is based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements:

We are a drug free workplace. All employees are required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and are subject to subsequent random testing

Ability to work 40+ hours per week and show up on time daily.

Transportation to and from the main office daily.

Preferences:

Valid driver's license, clean driving record, CDL a plus.

Experience in pipe laying and or heavy equipment operation is a plus but not required.

*This is a working foreman position that requires the skills & ability to successfully lead a pipe crew. This is not an entry level position as it requires demonstrable previous experience.

1) Positive multi-task attitude with strong organizational & communication skills.

2) Work with project manager/superintendent to coordinate material deliveries & project related subcontractors.

3) Ability to read plans, shoot grade & set up a pipe laser.

4) Thorough knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.

5) Able to problem solve & deal with a variety of job situations.

6) Able to correctly install storm drain, water, sewer, lift stations etc.

7) Knowledge of well pointing/dewatering

8) Proficient trackhoe/backhoe operator with experience digging around existing utilities.

9) Experience with trench boxes

10) Trimble/Topcon experience a plus

11) Concrete experience a plus

12) Must be an insurable driver & able to pass drug test

- Ability to follow written & verbal instructions
- Communicate regularly with supervisors, operators & laborers onsite
- This position requires manual labor
- Ability to correctly install storm drain, water, sewer pipe and associated structures etc. in wet/dry conditions
- Use of lasers & other necessary tools to accurately grade the bottom of the ditch for pipe placement
- May perform other duties assigned/required by the foreman
- Safe operation & cleanliness of small power tools, water pumps, generators etc.
- Concrete experience a plus
- Previous operator experience a plus
- Must have dependable transportation
- Valid driver’s license a plus
- Must be able to pass a drug test

- The Pipe Layer is in the hole aligning, connecting, and assembling the pipe.
- Send the pipe home with a pipe bar or direct the pipe home for the Operator.
- Preferred knowledge of using a laser to install gravity sewer or storm drain.
- Responsible for grading out the ditch to make sure that it is level for the pipe to sit properly.
- Relay hand signals to the Foreman (if needed).
- Let the Foreman know of any hazards in the hole
Bring tools to and from the hole.

- The Tailman will be in the hole helping the pipe layer align, connect, and assemble pipe.
- Soap up the end of the pipe for ease of sending home.
- Watch and make sure the pipe is sent home all the way.
- String wire along the pipe as needed.
