Peoria EAA 563

Peoria EAA 563 Welcome to the EAA Chapter 563 page. We are located at the Mt. Hawley Airport (3MY) in Peoria, IL. We also sponsor a few youth outreach programs.

We have a fly-in breakfast the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. There is also a coffee club that meet at our hanger every Thursday at 8AM. We hold general membership meeting the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7PM. At these meeting we discuss current chapter events and host guest speakers or Aviation Themed Movie Nights. We actively support the Young Eagles Program. Kids between the ages of 8 and

17 can take a FREE flight! Since 1992, nearly 2 Million kids have flown with EAA’s volunteer Pilots. For many Young Eagles, its the spark that leads them down the path to become a pilot, aircraft mechanic, air traffic controller, or other careers in aviation. We also sponsor an Aviation Explorer Post. This post is affilated with the Boy Scouts of America to provide Aviation Education to those interested in Aviation! The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) is an organization that promotes all forms of recreational aviation. Originally started as an organization for those interested in building their own aircraft, it has not expanded to Antique, Warbird, Aerobatic, Ultralights, Helicopters, Commercially Manufactured Aircraft and most recently Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones). The EAA also supports Aviation Safety, Aviation Education, and Youth Outreach. The Experimental Aircraft Association has its headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. However there are chapters all throughout the world. EAA also hosts an annual fly-in known as AirVenture. More information can be found here - www.eaa.org
