Welcome to the page of the College of Engineering and Technology at Bradley University. The focus of the College of Engineering and Technology at Bradley University is engaging, hands-on, team-based engineering education. Our faculty have achieved a high level of technical competence in their field, and are committed to teaching and mentoring students. Some of this hands-on activity is pa

rticipation in student projects such as the ASCE Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge Competition, the SAE Formula car competition, and participation in the University's Exposition of Student Projects. Virtually all our senior projects are industry supported real problems for which the student teams provide real engineering solutions. With available co-op positions, summer internships, and our unique industry practicum program, our students can gain valuable "on the job" experience that makes them sought by industrial employers.

Today, our Alumni spotlight shines on John Garrels , Managing Director, Slalom Consulting, and a graduate of Bradley's Industrial Engineering program. At Slalom, John's work focuses on helping organizations leverage technology, data, and innovation to transform their businesses and achieve strategic goals.

John has this to say about his Bradley experience, "Bradley provided a strong academic foundation, but more importantly, it taught me how to think critically, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds. The relationships I built with professors and fellow students helped shape my confidence and provided lessons that continue to influence my leadership style today. Bradley encouraged curiosity, problem-solving, and a willingness to take on new challenges, all of which have been essential throughout my career. "

Great advice, John! Congratulations on your success and making the most of your Bradley experience.

Fall classes have started, but we still have summer internship stories to tell. Today, we introduce you to David Jablonski, a senior Mechanical Engineering major and Marketing minor. David spent his summer as an engineering intern at Altorfer Cat. His work included power system enclosures and containers, with a focus on both internal and external design.🔌

David says, "What I enjoy most about this internship is that I’m trusted with real engineering projects rather than typical intern assignments. I get to contribute to real-world applications and collaborate with the entire engineering team."💪

What a great way to spend the summer, David. Congratulations.👏

Today's intern spotlight shines on Ava Wilson, a junior Civil Engineering major. Ava spent the summer with F.H. Paschen, where she worked on the Union Ridge SD 86 Addition and Renovation Project, gaining hands-on experience in both field operations and project administration. Her responsibilities included tracking punch list items and closeout documents, attending OAC and sub coordination meetings, recording site progress, and submitting checklists/report forms, which deepened her understanding of how detailed coordination and documentation support a successful project.🅱️👷🏻‍♀️

Ava says, "I am incredibly grateful for FHP’s commitment to creating a truly meaningful learning environment through opportunities like Friday in the Field where we were able to visit project sites around Chicago and build strong connections with fellow interns. A huge shoutout to my project team for their guidance, patience, and support— I couldn’t have asked for a better group to learn from!"🏢🏗

Congratulations on an amazing summer, Ava. 👏
