Tomorrow, Friday, August 14, at approximately 9:30 AM, Carus will conduct planned testing of our alarm systems at our LaSalle manufacturing facility.

The testing is part of our routine emergency preparedness efforts and helps ensure our systems are functioning properly and ready to operate in the event of an emergency.

During this time, employees, neighbors, and members of the public may hear alarms and/or voiceover warnings originating from the facility. These are only tests. There are no emergencies and no action required. In the event of severe weather during this timeframe, these tests will be rescheduled.

Local emergency officials and dispatch agencies have been notified in advance of the testing. We anticipate the testing will conclude by approximately 10 AM.

Regular testing of emergency systems is an important part of our commitment to safety, preparedness, and responsible operations.

We appreciate the understanding and patience of our employees, neighbors, and community members as this work is completed.

🧪✨ 🔬Curiosity was on full display at Illinois Valley Community College's Summer Science Camp as young learners explored the exciting world of chemistry through hands-on activities and experiments.

Carus employees joined IVCC to help campers learn about the periodic table, states of matter, laboratory safety, and the scientific method before guiding them through colorful lava lamp and bouncy ball experiments.

Thank you to Illinois Valley Community College for the opportunity to be part of another great STEM learning experience and to our employee volunteers for helping inspire the next generation of scientists.

🚀🎓 That's a wrap on the 24th Annual Carus Summer Science Camp!

Our campers wrapped up an incredible week by putting their engineering skills to the test during the annual rocket launch competition before celebrating a week of learning, discovery, and new friendships.

Congratulations to all of our rocket competition winners, and to every camper for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to embrace new challenges throughout the week. We hope the experiences, friendships, and memories made at camp inspire a lifelong love of STEM.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated counselors, teachers, and volunteers who made this week possible. We are especially grateful to St. Bede Academy for once again partnering with us to host camp, and to our camp instructors, Dan Fitzpatrick and Angelique Depenbrock, for sharing their time, expertise, and passion with our campers.

Campers explored the history of Carus during a visit to the Hegeler-Carus Mansion while also participating in hands-on STEM activities that encouraged them to ask questions, experiment, and discover.

One of the best ways to learn about science is to see it in action. 💧🔬

Today, our Carus Summer Science Camp campers visited the LaSalle Water Treatment Plant for a behind-the-scenes tour of the water treatment process. From learning how water is cleaned and tested to seeing the equipment that keeps the system running, campers experienced firsthand how STEM careers make a difference every day.
