‼️ Severe weather is expected across Indiana today, according to the National Weather Service ‼️

If outages occur, Miami-Cass REMC line crews and support staff are prepared to respond and will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore service to affected members. Safety remains our highest priority, and crews will continue working until power has been restored.

Please review the anticipated timing and have a plan in place to keep your family safe. Strong winds, large hail, tornadoes, and localized flooding are all possible.

If you lose power:
- Stay away from downed power lines and report them immediately.
- Keep cell phones charged and flashlights readily available.
- Never operate generators indoors or in enclosed areas.
- Monitor local weather updates and be prepared to seek shelter if warnings are issued.

We appreciate your patience and understanding should severe weather impact our service territory.

Crews have been actively working on restoring outages since 10:00pm last night and will continue until all outages are restored.

REMINDER: NEVER GO NEAR DOWN POWER LINES, CALL US IF YOU SEE ANYTHING OF CONCERN, AND IN AN EMERGENCY ALWAYS CALL 911 FIRST!

National Work Zone Awareness Week is April 20 to 24. During this week, motorists are reminded to stay alert and use extra caution around those who work on and near our roadways. Miami-Cass REMC encourages drivers to remember that work zones don’t just include road construction; they also include utility crews working along roadsides to build, repair, and maintain electric power lines.

When storms roll through and the lights go out, our linemen at Miami-Cass REMC answer the call.

They work long hours, often in dangerous conditions and at all hours of the day and night, to restore power to homes, farms, and businesses across our communities. The work is tough, but their commitment to the members we serve never wavers.

Lineman Appreciation Day is celebrated on April 13, but their dedication is something we’re grateful for every single day.

Miami-Cass REMC is looking for a passionate community member to join our volunteer Operation Round Up Board.

Do you want to make a difference in the community? As a board member, you’ll help guide the distribution of funds that support local nonprofits, organizations, and community projects. The board meets quarterly for approximately 30 minutes in the evening at the REMC board room. Members may serve for up to 6 years.

Requirements:
• Be a Miami-Cass REMC member
• Live in Cass County
• Participate in Operation Round Up through your monthly bill
• Attend quarterly meetings
• Have a heart for serving others

If you’re someone who truly cares about giving back and building up our community, we’d love to hear from you! 🤩
