Temple Teacher Residency prepares individuals with a strong math, science, or Spanish background to teach in Philadelphia high need middle and secondary schools. Temple Teacher Residency is an urban teacher residency program that prepares individuals from diverse backgrounds to teach science and mathematics in high need middle schools in Philadelphia, PA. Residents simultaneously gain teaching exp

erience by working with an expert teacher in an urban middle grades (grades 4-8) classroom while earning their Pennsylvania teaching credentials. This accelerated one-year master’s and teacher certification program is for individuals with a strong science, mathematics, and engineering background who aim to promote STEM education opportunities and achievement of Philadelphia students. from Temple University’s College of Education, (2) Pennsylvania teaching certification in science and/or mathematics for grades 4-8 as well as all subjects for grades 4-6, (3) an optional certification in special education, (4) ongoing professional development and mentorship for two years following graduation, and (5) a generous living stipend and tuition award during the one-year residency.
