Building for community, connection, and opportunity.

We’re proud to be part of the team behind the Abigail Pankey Apartments, the new four-story, 46,000-square-foot affordable housing development in Philadelphia for the Women’s Community Revitalization Project.

Designed to foster community and expand access to quality, affordable housing, the development features residential units, shared spaces, and resident-focused amenities.

Our structural design includes wood framing with wood truss floor and roof systems, strategically placed steel framing for the ground-floor community space, CMU elevator and stair towers, and a ground improvement system supporting the foundation.

Now complete, the Abigail Pankey Apartments represent an investment in Philadelphia’s future. We’re honored to help bring this important project to life alongside the Women’s Community Revitalization Project.

We’ve been keeping a secret... and it’s finally time to share it.

After nearly a year of anticipation, we’re excited to announce that one of our projects, Silverman Hall at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, will be featured on America ByDesign!

We’re proud to have partnered with VMA to help transform this prestigious space, where thoughtful structural engineering led by Keast & Hood Principal Allison Lukachik played an integral role in preserving and enhancing this historic higher-ed building, familiar to many in Philadelphia.

Last week, the Keast & Hood team traveled to Baltimore, MD for the Building Museums Symposium, joining industry peers from across the country to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping museum design today.

From thoughtful discussions around accessibility in museum spaces, to the complexities of renovating historic cultural institutions, to the engineering behind iconic new museum construction, the sessions offered valuable insight into how these spaces continue to evolve to better serve communities and visitors.

We also enjoyed reconnecting with colleagues, meeting new industry partners, and spending time exploring the city of Baltimore.

And while the conversations inside the conference were dynamic, the weather outside may have been even more so - tornado warnings followed by a snowstorm within 24 hours made for a memorable trip.

We’re excited to continue these conversations when the symposium heads west to Los Angeles for MAAM 2027!
