As a kid, Forrest Richardson sketched fantasy golf holes just for fun. Now, he’s helping redefine how the game is designed.

He joined Sam Dingman on KJZZ’s The Show to talk short courses, Mountain Shadows, and how golf course design is evolving. The conversation also looks back on his early love of the game and the mentor who helped shape his career.

Scottsdale Country Club's new Six Shooter features a rockin' par-3. All 30,000 Ibs. of the "Blue Boulder" was plucked from a Tucson quarry and carefully set in place to form a unique 8,000 s.f. green. It's a punchbowl with a twist.

Forrest brings fun to this historic Scottsdale, AZ property. Starfire Golf Club is preparing to open in 2026 ‘The Bandana’, a 22,000-square-foot putting course, and ‘The Six Shooter’, a 10-hole short course, while the 18-hole championship course is also being prepared for 2027. The club will return to its original name, Scottsdale Country Club — preserving its history while introducing a fresh spirit for a new generation of residents and visitors.
