Using Hurricane CAT 5 in the Arizona heat takes planning.

Our recommendation is to wet the pavers the evening before, then return early the next morning to apply Hurricane CAT 5.

Cooling the surface overnight helps reduce the heat stored in the pavers and gives you a better application window before the Arizona sun heats everything back up.

A few field tips:

Start as early as possible.
Make sure there is no standing or pooled water.
Check the actual surface temperature, not just the air temperature.
Have the area prepared before mixing.
Work in manageable sections and stay ahead of direct sunlight.
Mix only what your crew can apply within the product’s working time.

This method can be used whether you are sealing the surface or stabilizing the joint sand. The goal is not to flood the area right before application. The goal is to cool the pavers overnight and begin while conditions are still manageable.
