Monocrystalline, polycrystalline, thin film — Does it ever end!?

We get it — there are several types of solar panels to choose from, and it’s hard to know where to begin.

Thankfully, we can help you with that!

But first, we want to ask you:

When it comes to solar panels, what is one thing you’d like to learn more about?

Contrary to popular belief, solar panels aren’t everyone’s preference.

So for the skeptics out there, we want to ask you:

What’s stopping you from going solar?

And, naturally — what can we do to change your mind ;)

Solar panel tip #398

Do your research before making any financial commitments.

Despite what some may think, not all solar panels are the same! The options are limitless — so, naturally, it may feel a little daunting when you first shine light on them ;)

We recommend taking time to research all of your options and considering the pros and cons of each to ensure that you pick the panels that best suit your needs.

After you make your selection and get your panels installed, it’s imperative that you get them checked and maintained regularly.

Some of the most common panel problems are broken glass, loose connections, and cracked panels.

But there are other problems that aren’t easily spotted — such as damaged wiring and electrical errors.

So if you suspect any damage or want to learn more about how to prevent it, just give us a call :)

Investing in green energy resources such as solar panels is one of the best ways to reduce the impacts of climate change.

But how do solar panels actually work?

Simply put, solar panels harness the sun’s energy to generate an electrical current.

Solar panels are composed of small units called photovoltaic cells. These cells allow light particles to knock electrons free from atoms. This process converts sunlight into electricity!

So how do solar panels power homes?

The process looks a little something like this:

First, sunlight activates the solar panels.

Then, the photovoltaic cells in the panels produce an electrical current.

Next, this current flows through an inverter. The inverter converts the current into usable energy.

Lastly, this energy runs through your electrical panel and powers your house!

We hope you found this helpful! And if you need a hand picking the right panels for you, just send us a message or give us a call.

We’re always here to help :)
