This deck had foam on it. The foam also covered the stucco weep flashing possibly trapping water in the wall because of cracks in the top of the wall. Foam is a great product for a flat roof but not ideal for pedestrian decks. We removed the foam, installed new plywood, a new drain, and a new waterproofing system.

“I have a soft rotted out spot in my deck. A contractor told me I have to tear out the entire deck.” Not so fast. Depending on the condition of the entire deck and the existing coating, we can often isolate and repair the bad area(s) and resurface the deck saving the homeowner thousands of dollars.
