If your cadet gets the opportunity to attend the Cadet Leadership Camp [summer camp] in the future - they should absolutely attend. It's a week long event where the cadets learn about working together by participating in many team/leader building exercises, drill (plenty of drill), obstacle course, leadership reaction course, and many more activities. The week ends with a graduation on a parade field [first 2 photos] and seniors are recognized. Flights are also recognized for excellence in various activities. This is also the first contact with family since they left for the camp [no phones]. The last 2 photos are of the current CLC class going on at Ft. Dix at the mess hall and training areas.

NOTE: I should add that Phoenixville did not attend this years CLC....

Tonight was the annual Change of Command ceremony. Another time honored tradition with its roots in the military, but signaling the end of the leadership year and the beginning of the next. It's a bit bittersweet for the parent's of seniors and exciting for the underclassmen to be recognized for their awards, both medals and ribbons, earned. To be recognized for hard work and commitment to their fellow cadets, to make the unit whole and strong.

Congratulations to all the cadets on their achievements and promotions.

A special Congratulations to Cadet Col. Dunn on a successful 2022 and Best Wishes to Cadet Lt. Col Nowak on a successful 2023.

Yesterday afternoon Phoenixville AFJROTC held its 3rd Annual [in-house] Drill Competition. This is a culmination of the school year about learning how to actively listen and follow direction. Each flight [class] competes against the other flights conducting drill maneuvers. At the end, while scores were being tallied, the cadets competed in an individual competition - their version of "Simon Says".

We would like to congratulation ALPHA FLIGHT on the flight award and Cadet Woodall on the individual award.

The Cadet Commander for next year was also announced. Congratulations to Cadet Commander - Elect Nowak on her upcoming appointment. She was selected out of 5 Cadets who applied and interviewed for the position. CCE Nowak will now begin to fill the roles of her Senior Leadership for the next year. We look forward to our Change of Command ceremony in May.

A special thank you to the competitive armed guard from the North Penn High School AFJROTC who came to display their abilities for our cadets.

Please enjoy the photos below from the event.

The Military Officers Association of America award is bestowed on an annual basis to the most outstanding JROTC Cadet of the region. This year, for the third time in the last four years, a cadet from PAHS has been selected for this award. This year the cadet being recognized is Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Coda Dunn who is part of the PA-20142 Air Force Junior ROTC program at PAHS. This award shows discipline, respect, honesty, and overall great character in and out of AFJROTC which Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Dunn has shown throughout her 4 years of being in AFJROTC. CONGRATULATIONS CODA!

Every year AFJROTC has two formal evaluations. The evaluations are tools used to develop the team and leadership within the team!

Open ranks evaluation is a professionalism award which is a combination of the ex*****on of Drill and Ceremony and how properly and proudly our cadets wear the service Dress uniform. The Physical training team evaluation is an evaluation of how well each flight can conduct an organized energetic workout regimen as a team.

Each evaluation has designated leaders and or commanders which lead the evaluation while the others effectively follow commands and or instructions.

Our first period class Alpha Flight , AKA The Alpha Dogs won the Physical Training team award and our fourth period class Charlie Flight, AKA The Charlie Champions won the Open Ranks Evaluation, Professionalism award.

Congratulations to all the cadets and their leaders.
