Since the candidates are not necessarily familiar to the members of the selection committee, it is asked of the nominator(s) that the explanation of their candidate’s accomplishments be complete and thorough. It is critical to the selection process. The nomination data is enclosed as a separate document answering the question about the candidate What lasting, valuable contribution did this person make that would make him/her stand out over others in the transportation field? The comments should include such items as technological innovations, political activity, legislative accomplishments, creativity, time or cost saving effects, economic impact, etc. HALL OF HONOR COMMITTEE INFORMATION
The Transportation Hall of Honor Committee is composed of the following 15 representatives: six (6) transportation industry representatives (Contractors/Suppliers), one (1) County transportation representative, one (1) Transportation Commissioner, the Secretary of Transportation, three (3) Department of Transportation employees, three (3) retired Department of Transportation employees, and the Governor (Ex-Officio). To select a Hall of Honor inductees from the nominee, a secret ballot is used. A member may be present either in person or by teleconference and must be present for the entire meeting to be eligible to vote. Each of the winning nominees must receive a majority vote of the members present. There must be at least eight (8) members present and voting to make a quorum.
