POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide effective Leadership, clear direction, and continuous motivation over area of responsibility to produce first quality products, efficient, timely and in a safe manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct, plan, and control the production department to achieve set objectives.
Manage production performance to include attainment, efficiencies, cost and quality goals.
Maintain time and production records.
Line balance to ensure good production workflow to achieve daily goals.
Communicate daily production status and changes to all employees.
Administrative functions that include Production, Quality, Cost, Efficiencies, Safety reports and HR documentation.
Present company policy and programs to crew in a positive manner.
Enforce safety rules and regulations.
Conduct accident investigations and implement approved recommendations.
Participate, support, and encourage safety/safety programs.
Conduct weekly departmental inspection to identified possible hazards.
Participate in production meetings when necessary.
Communicate information or changes within the organization to employees.
Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
Issue written and oral instructions.
Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Working knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in:
Understanding flow and takt time
Lead and teach Kaizen events
Lead and teach A3s
Read and create Value Stream Maps
Lead and teach 5s + 1s
Demonstrate ability to prevent problems
Demonstrate ability to solve problems using Lean Tools

Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Science, Operations Management or Business; and / or combination of education and equivalent relevant years of experience
8+ years of manufacturing experience.
A strong lean manufacturing background.
Ability to travel required (minimal)
Physical Demands: Frequently sits, bends, kneels, and reaches out with hands/arms. Must be able to lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
