Established in 2004, Advance Design & Systems, LLC (ADS) was founded by David A Crawford Jr in Pine City, MN. By 2008, electrical engineering, fabrication, and assembly services were added to ADS. With the growth of the company still expanding, ADS decided it needed a second location. In 2018, the Vadnais Heights, MN location was acquired to accommodate for this large growth. Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician
Department: Assembly

Job Summary:
The Mechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for mechanical assembling products and components according to specifications and quality standards per various customer specifications/drawings. This role involves using tools, machinery, and equipment to complete tasks, maintaining a safe and organized workspace, and collaborating with team members to meet production targets. Familiarity with assembly tools and ability to interpret assembly drawings a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assembly Operations:
• Assemble products or components following technical instructions, blueprints, or diagrams.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.
2. Machine and Equipment Operation:
• Operate and maintain assembly equipment and machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Field wiring of electrical components, motors, sensors, valves, servo motors, etc.
3. Health and Safety:
• Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
• Report safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor immediately.

4. Team Collaboration:
• Work in both individual and team environment to achieve production targets.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Assist in training new employees when needed.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior Assembly experience preferred, but not required if applicant has mechanical aptitude and/or mechanic background. Familiarity with tools, machinery, and equipment used in assembly.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to read and interpret prints.
• Ability to read multimeter and use to troubleshoot.
• Basic math skills for measuring and calculating.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Working Conditions:
• Primarily factory floor with exposure to noise, machinery, and physical labor.
• Requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working with various tools and equipment.
• Standard working hours with possible overtime during peak production periods.
• Must be willing to work an occasional evening to accommodate customer schedules while on site for FAT

HIRING - EDM Wire/CNC Machinist

Job Summary: The EDM Wire Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining EDM wire machines to manufacture precision components in accordance with production specifications and quality standards. The operator will ensure efficient and safe machine operation while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Setup and Operation:
• Set up and operate EDM wire machines following work instructions, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
• Select appropriate wire types, machine settings, and tooling for various materials.
• Adjust machine parameters to maintain specified tolerances and quality.
2. Quality Control:
• Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
• Perform in-process inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify and correct any defects or deviations from specifications.
3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
• Perform routine maintenance on EDM wire machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance personnel.
4. Safety Compliance:
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• Technical certification or vocational training in machining or manufacturing preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating EDM wire machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
