Two more recent jobs involved new flooring in areas that had been carpeted. The first job involved installing vinyl plank on a stairwell that had been carpeted. Thanks to Brent Norman who referred this job to me. Although mid job when I was starting to sweat a bit, I wasn't sure if I should be thanking him...
The second job was installing t&g hickory hardwood flooring. I had the wisdom to bring my son, Gabe, with me to help. At the risk of him getting a big head, I'll admit he was a big help. Don't let him know.

A local condo had downspouts coming off a flat roof. During the winter and spring, the roof would periodically thaw and refreeze. Unfortunately, the downspouts would do the same and buildup ice on, around, and behind them. Over the years, the siding behind them started to rot. This late fall, I replaced affected siding, framing, and rim joist. I noticed they even snuck in a last minute paint job before it got too cold.

My friend Mark wanted to build a covered entryway on his cabin near Park Rapids. He had enough projects on his plate, so he was looking for some help. He mentioned that his dad was willing to help, but wouldn't accept any payment for his time... I, being a good friend, stepped up and said, "I'll help you, I'll accept your money." Richie and Bethany just finished their place on Norway Lake with beautiful views from the east shore. I helped install some of the trimwork. Possibly the best part was when Bryce offered to make me lunch one day. He asked me how many chicken nuggets I wanted. I thought for a second, not knowing how many he had, and replied, "I'll take half of what you're making for yourself."
'Okay," he replied, "I'll make you 20."

Just finished a job on Mission Lake. They had an ice dam on the roof which backed up into the ceiling and walls. Sam @ Servpro dried out the place and removed damaged paneling, trim and flooring, then I came in and fixed what Sam broke! Actually, Sam was the one who referred them to me, so "Thanks, Sam."

I recently got to help out Dane and Judy with some new flooring in their kitchen, entry, and bathroom. The best part may have been their generous offer of lunch! Judy does not skimp on the ham in a ham and cheese sandwich!
