Built to Last: 35 Years of Partnerships
Some projects last a few years. The best partnerships last decades.
For Landfill Group, long-term relationships are at the core of what we do. One example is our partnership with Pitt County, NC—beginning in the early 1990s with a direct-use landfill gas project supplying energy to what is now Novant Health Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Even after the landfill closed, the project continued generating energy for more than 20 years. We operated the system through its full lifecycle, retiring it in 2022, while continuing to support the site today.
That’s what partnership looks like: showing up year after year, adapting, and seeing projects through to the end.
We’ve taken this same approach across the industry, working with public and private partners on projects that span decades, from landfill gas to solar to RNG.
The goal is simple: build systems that last—and relationships that last even longer.
