Bravo 489th BSB We are a Field Maintenance Company (FMC) in the Louisiana Army National Guard (LAARNG).

The nature of the modern battlefield demands that the maintenance system that is
flexible and responsive, and focused on returning systems to operational status
quickly and as near as possible to the point of failure or damage. This requirement
implies a forward thrust of maintenance into brigade areas. Maintenance assets move
as far forward as the tactical situat

ion permits to return inoperable and damaged
equipment to the battle as quickly as possible. Field maintenance accomplishes this
mission by isolating faults and replacing failed components. This chapter describes
the mission, organization, and operations of the field maintenance company (FMC).
