An inefficient heating system also uses more energy, which means higher utility bills and unnecessary strain on your equipment. Most importantly, ignoring repairs can put your household at risk, especially with the potential for dangerous issues like carbon monoxide leaks. Regular maintenance and prompt attention to repairs help maintain a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for you and your loved ones. Want to improve your home's energy efficiency and stay comfortable as temperatures rise? Here are six simple tips to help you save money on your energy bills. Start by sealing air leaks with caulk, weatherstripping, or spray foam to keep cool air inside. Install a programmable thermostat so you can easily control your home's temperature and reduce costs. Remember to change your air filters regularly, as clogged filters can make your system work harder. Schedule regular maintenance with an HVAC repair technician to keep your system running efficiently. Use ceiling fans set to rotate clockwise to circulate cool air throughout your home. If your HVAC system is over ten years old, consider upgrading to a newer, more energy-efficient model. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, these steps can save you up to 30 percent on energy costs. For more tips or to schedule a service, visit our website or give us a call today.

Keeping your home comfortable during those hot summer months starts with a well-maintained air conditioning system. Regular maintenance like changing filters, checking refrigerant levels, and cleaning coils ensures your AC runs efficiently, keeping energy bills down. Adjusting your thermostat a few degrees higher or using a programmable thermostat can save energy and reduce costs, especially when you are not at home. The size and age of your AC unit matter too; older or incorrectly sized systems can lead to higher bills and less effective cooling. Upgrading to a newer, properly sized unit may boost both comfort and savings. If you notice issues or inefficiency, it could be time for air conditioning repair. Take care of your AC to enjoy a cool, energy-smart home. For more tips or to schedule service, visit our website today.

Keeping your HVAC unit in top shape starts with one simple habit, regularly replacing your air filters. This easy step traps dust, pollen, dander, and other allergens, giving your home cleaner air and helping protect loved ones with allergies or breathing issues. Fresh filters also keep your system running efficiently, which can lower your energy bills by 5 to 15 percent and reduce wear and tear on your unit. When filters get clogged, your HVAC has to work harder, which can lead to more frequent HVAC repair and a shorter lifespan for your unit. For families with young children, seniors, or anyone sensitive to temperature changes, maintaining clean filters is even more important, especially during extreme weather. Don’t wait for issues to arise, routine filter changes can help you avoid unexpected breakdowns and keep your home comfortable all year long. Have you seen this positive customer review? Check it out! We love hearing from you!

"Had them service the units at my home and then asked if they would please go by daughter's and service her's as well. When they began their preliminary inspection at my daughter's residence they almost immediately noticed a large amount of black soot in the exterior exhaust pipe. They immediately pulled the cover and found a hole had rusted in the heat unit and as such carbon dioxide was getting back into the house via the heat vents rather than going outside via the exhaust pipe. They called me, showed me and explained what was taking place. They immediately cut the gas off to the unit and later that evening gave us options for a new unit. Had I not requested the unit be inspected and serviced this could have become a tragedy for our family. I want to thank the folks at Trogdon Heating and Air for paying attention to the details rather than simply doing a service, billing us, and going on to the next job. Two suggestions if you don't have a carbon monoxide dectector in your home get one. And second call Trogdon Heating and Air and have your systems inspected and serviced at least annually. Again, thank you Trogdon Heating and Air. New unit installed within 72 hours."
