S*K Softball Player to Watch: Gracen McLaren

Few programs in the state have been as dominant as Frontenac, and Gracen McLaren has been a key part of that success. The junior second baseman has helped lead her team to back-to-back state championships, including an impressive 30-1 record in 2025, establishing herself as a steady and reliable presence in the lineup and in the field.

McLaren brings a well-rounded game to the diamond. She hit .394 last season while playing strong defense with a .950 fielding percentage, totaling 50 putouts and 26 assists. Her consistency and ability to make plays on both sides of the ball make her a valuable piece for a team that expects to compete at the highest level every year.

A first team all-state infielder and S*K 3A first team selection, McLaren continues to build on an already impressive resume. With young talent like Hadley Goodwin, Acelyn Ogle, and Paige Unruh stepping into bigger roles, Frontenac looks poised to remain a contender. “I’m very excited for my junior season and looking to head back to the state tournament for a third time,” McLaren said. “We are all determined to keep our championship standard, and I will do whatever I can to give our team another title.”

With years of competitive experience and a championship mindset, McLaren continues to be a key piece in one of the state’s top programs, focused on keeping the standard high and adding to an already impressive run.
