With this corrupt bill (written by the utility monopolies themselves) VETOED, I am SO happy to say that homeowners will continue to have their autonomy and choice to lower their bills via their own clean, renewable energy sources. 💪🌞

[The bill was] ”A nightmare for anyone who believes in energy freedom and the rights of people to choose the energy that works for them and their families.” - Will Giese, southeast regional director of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA)

The obvious right choice was made 🙌👏 👏

As renewable energy and energy freedom advocates rejoice, the bill will go back to the legislature, where it initially passed with 68% of the total vote.

Unfortunately, even though 84% of Florida voters support net metering, the bill to end the financial incentives for going solar in Florida is moving forward.

"The net metering bill came under additional scrutiny in December after the Miami Herald and Floodlight reported that Florida Power and Light DRAFTED and ENCOURAGED state lawmakers to file legislation constricting the state’s growing rooftop solar industry"
..sound like a corrupt monopoly to anyone else?

Nearly half of voters said they would be less likely to re-elect state lawmakers who vote for bills that raise the cost to install rooftop solar.
