Last week, members of the PWWG team presented at AIA Build Pittsburgh on the role of computational design in architectural practice.

Using 120 Cecil as a case study, Jennifer Szczesniak, Louis Suarez, and Miguel Perez explored how parametric workflows helped study façade variation, environmental performance, constructability, and cost efficiency throughout the design process.

The session also highlighted how computational design continues to shape the way we iterate, analyze, and explore design possibilities across projects and scales.

Thank you to and everyone who attended the session and joined the conversation!

It’s team site visit day at HG1–Lytle! 👷‍♀️

Project Manager, Joseph Roy, led an insightful tour of the site, giving our internal PWWG team a chance to experience the project firsthand. From those deeply involved to team members seeing it for the first time, it was a valuable opportunity to walk the space, understand the progress, and connect with the work in a more tangible way.

These moments help bring everyone onto the same page and reinforce the collaboration behind every project. Excited to see it all continue to come together! 🏗️

✨ Memorial Park Church Sanctuary Renovation is Complete! ✨

The sanctuary at Memorial Park Church — originally completed in 1962 — has officially been transformed to better serve both its in-person congregation and growing online community.

The renovation focused on three key goals:
💡 Brighter, more welcoming lighting
👀 Removing visual and physical barriers
🎥 Modernizing and consolidating audio-visual systems

Lighter finishes and thoughtfully designed lighting now create a warm, contemporary worship environment. The reconfigured dais improves accessibility and strengthens the connection between pastors, performers, and the congregation. Behind the scenes, a new raised AV booth and upgraded acoustical treatments enhance sound quality and sightlines for both in-person and live-broadcast services.

Honoring its history while preparing for the future, the renewed sanctuary is ready for the next chapter.

Exciting progress at Hazelwood Green! 🏗️

Lytle Street Apartments is officially starting to rise out of the ground, marking a major milestone for the site’s first residential building. Over the last month and a half, foundations and the second-floor post-tension concrete slab were completed.

The Lytle Street Apartment Building is a new 50-unit development being brought to life in partnership with Speyer and TREK Development Group, located directly across from Plaza Park and offering views of the historic former mill building. This project represents an important step forward for Hazelwood Green, helping transform the site into a vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood.

The building’s first floor along Lytle Street will activate the street and serve both residents and the surrounding community, featuring a corner commercial space, community room, fitness room, library, playroom, ample bike storage, and inviting outdoor spaces.

With construction now visibly underway, we’re excited to watch this building take shape and contribute to the continued growth and revitalization of Hazelwood Green.
